President
He Miao, an alumna of the China Academy of Art’s Department of Sculpture, has spent years immersed in the creation of public art and sculptural works. She has been a recurring contributor to Burning Man, where her installations have garnered international recognition. Her artistic practice merges public art with spatial design to reflect on pressing social issues. Through her signature use of materials—juxtaposing a delicate exterior with a resilient core—He Miao crafts a compelling metaphor for feminine strength, drawing widespread attention and acclaim.

Janis K. Hesse
Chief Scientific Officer
Janis K. Hesse is a German neuroscientist researching the neural mechanisms of consciousness and psychedelics at UC Berkeley. Before his role as project lead and camp co-lead at Mona Art Project, Janis contributed to Burning Man as part of a neuroscience-themed camp hosting talks and workshops on psychedelics. In his free time, Janis also writes and performs music in various funk and rock bands.

He Yaqin, a graduate of the Sichuan Conservatory of Music and the Chengdu Academy of Fine Arts, has devoted herself to arts education with unwavering passion. Her commitment to nurturing creativity is complemented by extensive overseas study, where she draws inspiration from a rich tapestry of global cultures. Actively engaged in the planning and realization of international art initiatives, He Yaqin strives to cultivate meaningful dialogue between Chinese art and the broader global community. At Burning Man, she has dedicated herself to the logistics of Mona art projects and Mona camp for several years.
